Hotel Aplaus in Litomyšl came about as a result of the reconstruction of three historically protected buildings in the historic center of Litomyšl. An amalgamation of the rich history and the present became the motto of Hotel Aplaus. History of Hotel Aplaus:
A brief look into the history of the hotel will show that the pub “Na sklípku” was located in one of the buildings of the hotel complex in the 19th and 20th centuries. It was a favorite of the painter and graphic artist Josef Váchal during his stay in Litomyšl. To commemorate this, his art dominates the decoration of the hotel’s restaurant Bohém, which has almost 200 seats. A private lounge is also available for receptions, parties or lectures and an intimate environment is offered by the hotel’s café-bar Muuza. If the guests of the hotel want to sit in the open, they can do so on the terrace by the monastery gardens.
Location of Hotel Aplaus:
Hotel Aplaus has a very good strategic location. It is only minutes on foot to attractions that are worth seeing. Among these certainly belong the Renaissance chateau and its grounds, which were inscribed into the UNESCO register of World Cultural and Natural Heritage sites in 1999. It is here that, at the beginning of each summer, the International Opera Festival Smetana’s Litomyšl takes place. The festival has been a part of the town for more than half a century and is the biggest cultural event of the year.
